Cultural Guidance and Student Support

Ruth Scalplock and Herman Yellow Old Woman are both from Siksika Nation and are highly respected Elders within the community and our Siksika Societies.

Herman Yellow Old Woman

Elder in Residence

Herman is a grandfather within our Siksika Societies who holds extensive knowledge of Siksika language, culture, history, clan systems, and the land. He has also served as a councillor and leader within the Nation.

Ruth Scalplock

Elder in Residence

Ruth is an author, residential school survivor, and former councillor of Siksika Nation. She brings a wealth of lived experience and wisdom to support and guide students on their academic and personal healing journeys.
