Student Support Program
Indigenous Mental Health
The Mental Health Student Support Program is a holistic program designed to help students with their mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional well-being. The program provides assistance in four key areas.
Four Areas of Student Well-Being
The program supports students through a balanced approach that recognizes mental health, physical wellness, spiritual connection, and emotional support as interconnected parts of student success.
Mental
The program assists students to re-focus, re-develop, and rejuvenate their mental health capacity.
Physical
The program provides and develops activities and programs that assist students in developing personal vitality.
Spiritual
The program connects students with Elders and knowledge holders who carry knowledge of Siksika ceremonies, traditions, and culture.
Emotional
The program creates wellness programs, workshops, and supports for students during each academic year, and refers students to outside counselling or psychological agencies when needed.
Student-Centred Support
This support is intended to help students strengthen their overall well-being while continuing their studies in a culturally grounded learning environment.
